I wonder what it is that makes dogs bark at what they bark at?

Chuck just went tearing across the room barking and jumped up on the
couch. I looked outside and there was some man walking down the street.
But lots of people walk down the street and Chuck doesn't bark at them.
I wonder if he can smell something or hear something we can't???

If dogs could talk, they wouldn't need to bark. It could be that Chuck
heard the man walking and maybe there was something different about the
way the man was walking (limping).

I think Chuck's smarter than I give him credit for. He now jumps up on
the back of the love seat so he can see out the window for the kids to
come home from school. He goes up there a litle after 3:00 and the
first kid comes home about 3:15. There's another that comes by school
bus about two minutes later and our little next door neighbor comes home
by school bus around 3:20. He barks at them all and then jumps down.
It looks like he's on school patrol!!! LOL

Baley always knows when it is 8 pm.........treat time. She's the only
one to hear Jack put in. Now she mostly naps. So ignores the mailman
and the paperperson.

I agree about dogs should talk... Our daughter has these two dogs that
wag their tails when we come up the road, our daughter knows it is us
before we get there. Her neighbor comes home and they do nothing

It's nice that Chuckie has a little bit of excitement in his life but
what happens when school is over for the summer? Maybe you can get the
kids to play in front of your house.
